Becoming NatureWise
Gain the nature skills, heightened awareness and local ecological knowledge that deepens your relationship with our PNW Territory
Our summer immersion is when we come together each year to deepen our knowledge and relationship with the plants, animals, and ecological biospheres within our PNW Territory.

We hone in our nature skills and ability to read the signs and conversations occurring within nature all around us.

All levels are welcomed.... Here we are all students learning from each other, the land, plants and animals. The goal isn't to become masters of information but deepen our own person relationship.

What You'll Learn
Plants & Trees
Gain a solid base for identifying the trees and plants of your area. Learn the ancestral and indigenous ways of using them and the deeper relationship the plants reveal about an area.
Reading The Signs
Learn to read the signs and tracks present in nature that inform you of the greater stories and interactions of place.
Enter the mind of a tracker and ask the right questions that discern the stories the tracks reveal.
Bird Language
Learn to hear… what the different calls of birds mean and indicate is occurring around you. Through bird behavior and types of vocalizations you become informed of the activities occurring around you in nature, if there’s a predator nearby and where, of what’s about to happen in the weather and so on.
Sensory Skills
You'll learn how to engage and heighten your senses... to know what to sense... and how to be aware of the subtle happenings and communications all around you.
Ancestral Perspectives
Experience how to be in relationship with the land, animals and eco-systems. It's learning how to apprentice ourselves to the land, to not steward the land but allow the land steward us.

About The Program
FLOW OF PROGRAM
It’s offered as an experiential learning process.
Access Online Course where through videos, audios and articles you’ll gain the core knowledge base. You'll always have access to your course and can return to it again and again.
You'll journey into nature on your own or with friends to experience the principles first hand and cultivate relationship with the plants, animals, trees and birds. You'll be offered core routines and indigenous ways of enhancing and engaging your senses so by the end of the journey you'll have a strong foundation of the language of nature and be tuned into the conversations therein.
We’ll gather around the virtual fireside (zoom) twice a month to pool our learnings and experiences together and hence be part of a more traditional collaborative learning.

You'll have one-on-one mentorship throughout the journey to help you dial in and tailor the journey to your passions and intentions.
Core Areas of Learning
Coyote Mentoring
Learning How To Learn
Experience the old ways of learning known as Coyote Mentoring.

Coyote is the trickster, the storyteller, the master of games and guiding us to our own discovery through direct experience and inspiring curiosity.

This program is not about learning information, facts, or memorization.

Here you're learning how to apprentice yourself to nature and enter the mind of the tracker, the naturalist, the scout.

You're learning how to ask the right questions, how to listen, and cultivate your own relationship with nature.
